Six continents, and no single palette

This collection covers more ground than any other on the site and shares less. Grouping it by continent is the only sensible way in, because an Italian village and an Antarctic ice raft have nothing to say to each other on the same wall.

Africa

The deepest group here. Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe, Mosi-oa-Tunya, Zimbabwe and Rainbow Valley, Victoria Falls, Africa cover the falls from three positions. Kings of the Serengeti, Masai Tribesmen, Tanzania, Flamingo Reflections, Tanzania, Kings of Kilimanjaro and Grandeur of Kilimanjaro, Kenya carry the plains and the mountain. The Power of One, Africa and The Waterhole, Africa are the quieter pieces.

South America

Torres del Paine Nat Park, Chile, Autumn Splendour, Patagonia and Cascada del Rio Paine are the Patagonian images, and they are the closest thing here to the Australian alpine work: cold light, hard rock, no warmth in the palette.

Europe

Manarola, Cinque Terre and Riomaggiore, Cinque Terre are the Italian coast. Country Calling, Lake District, UK, Yorkshire Dales, UK and Eilean Donan Castle, UK are green and low contrast, and they suit a room that cannot take another strong colour.

New Zealand

Dancing Light, Lake Tekapo, Autumn Gold, NZ and Breaking Through, NZ. Six photographs in total, and the closest in feel to the Tasmanian work.

Asia and the Middle East

Endless Love, Taj Mahal and Power of Unity, India, River of Change, Guilin, China and Jade Dragon River, Guilin, China, Great Pyramids of Giza, Egypt and Valley of Mystery, Egypt, and Fishermen on the Sea of Galilee, Israel and Lightning Over Jerusalem.

The far south and the islands

Antarctic Raft and Mawson's Huts, Antarctica are the polar images. Bali Bliss and Bali Blue, Nusa Lembongan, Bali are the tropical ones.

How to use this collection

Most people arrive here with a specific place in mind rather than browsing. Every photograph carries its location in the title, so searching the place name is faster than working down the page.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which country is best represented outside Australia and America?

Africa, taken together. Zimbabwe, Tanzania and Kenya carry four, four and three photographs, with a further seven tagged to the continent without a country in the title. Victoria Falls alone appears in four images.

Is there much European work?

A limited amount. Italy carries seven photographs, mostly the Cinque Terre coast, and the United Kingdom three across the Lake District, the Yorkshire Dales and the Scottish highlands. This is not a European collection and it does not pretend to be one.

Which of these suit a room that already has a lot going on?

The British and New Zealand work. Country Calling, Lake District, UK, Yorkshire Dales, UK and Autumn Gold, NZ are green, low contrast and even, so they sit quietly. The African and Patagonian images are the opposite and want a wall to themselves.

Can I buy these from outside Australia?

Yes. Unframed overseas delivery is included in the artwork price, and framed pieces sent overseas may attract an additional freight quote. Unframed prints travel rolled with a cotton interleave in a cylinder, which is recommended wherever the freight leg is long.
